Applications

ProChafe makes chafing gear for rope applications in offshore, fisheries and aquaculture — anywhere synthetic lines wear against contact surfaces.

Offshore

Offshore mooring lines carry high loads through contact points on vessels and structures. Where a line bears on a surface, abrasion concentrates — and the rope, not the steel, wears first. A replaceable chafe sleeve takes that wear instead of the line, and hook & loop versions open on deck for rope inspection without unrigging.

CPRO Mooring H&L and CPRO Mooring Tube are made for mooring lines: custom fit to the rope diameter and manufactured in the length the wear zone needs.

Fisheries

Working ropes on fishing vessels run over rails, sheaves and deck equipment under load, often in wet and abrasive conditions. Chafe sleeves protect the sections that take the wear, and hook & loop versions can be moved or replaced in the field as wear patterns change.

ProChafe sleeves do not absorb water, and the 100% UHMWPE range — CPRO Pure H&L — floats in seawater.

Aquaculture

Fish-farm mooring systems remain deployed over long periods, with lines tensioned against buoys, frames and couplings. Chafe protection extends the life of critical lines, and hook & loop sleeves open and close in place so lines can be inspected without cutting gear loose.

Tubular sleeves are fitted before lines are spliced, while H&L versions retrofit onto lines already in service.
