CPRO Mooring Tube

CPRO Mooring Tube has most of the features of CPRO Mooring H&L, but since it is tubular, it is generally installed before the rope is spliced — at the factory or on site.

The tube can also be fitted without re-splicing, provided it is sized large enough to be pulled over the eye and the splice area. It is sewn with Endumax® thread — weight for weight, 11 times stronger than steel.

Key benefits

  • Closed tube gives continuous protection around the rope
  • Installed before splicing — or sized to pull over the eye and splice on site
  • UHMWPE, aramid and polyester as standard; nylon, PTFE and other materials on request
  • Sewn with Endumax® thread — weight for weight, 11 times stronger than steel
  • High abrasion and cut resistance

Installation and fastening

Slid onto the rope before splicing, or — when sized for it — pulled over the eye and splice on site. Fastening bands can be supplied for securing and positioning the sleeve.

Fastening options

ProChafe supplies standardised fastening-band configurations for positioning the sleeve and for connection and pulling — particularly useful for CPRO Mooring H&L and CPRO Mooring Tube.

  • Single fastening band for pulling
  • Fastening band with multiple eyes for connection and pulling
  • Two integrated fastening bands for connection and pulling
  • Three integrated fastening bands for connection and pulling
  • Integrated rope for permanently securing the jacket — tied off with seizing, whipping or knots

Typical applications

Suited to mooring lines that need permanent, closed protection over the wear zone — in offshore operations, fisheries and aquaculture.
