The fabric behind the protection

At the heart of every protection solution lies the fabric itself. CPRO™ and CPRO PURE™ are proprietary protection fabrics developed specifically for ropes operating in demanding marine, offshore, towing and mooring environments.

Both fabrics are built around a unique dual-layer herringbone weave construction, engineered to balance abrasion resistance, friction management and long-term durability under cyclic loading.

Available as both flat fabric and tubular constructions, the CPRO platform provides flexibility for a wide range of protection solutions and applications.

CPRO™

CPRO combines UHMWPE and polyester in a carefully engineered construction.

The rope-facing surface provides a low-friction interface, allowing the rope to move naturally under load while minimising wear. The outer polyester surface creates increased friction and grip, helping protection systems remain securely positioned where required.

This combination of low internal friction and controlled external friction makes CPRO the preferred choice for most dynamic rope protection applications.

CPRO PURE™

CPRO PURE takes the concept one step further.

Built entirely from UHMWPE fibres, CPRO PURE delivers exceptionally low friction on both surfaces while maximising fabric strength and resistance to tearing. The result is a material designed for applications involving high loads, aggressive cycling, low D/d ratios and extreme abrasion exposure.

Where maximum durability and minimum friction are required, CPRO PURE represents the highest-performance fabric within the CPRO platform.

Upgraded fabric construction

Both fabrics now carry increased mass per m² for a denser, tougher construction — a tighter, stronger weave aimed at improving resistance to tearing in aggressive contact areas.

Higher weight per m² and 3 mm thickness provide a more compact protective fabric: better robustness in areas exposed to abrasion, cyclic contact and potential tearing initiation.

Proven in cyclic testing

CPRO PURE was tested by TTI in the UK on a nylon base rope: continuous sinusoidal loading at a 40-second design cycle speed, with no holding periods. The test stops at failure or at 6,000 cycles — exceeding 6,000 cycles is considered a success.

Beyond standard solutions

PESPRO™

For customers where cost efficiency is a key driver and friction characteristics are less critical, PESPRO™ uses the same proven CPRO construction in a 100% polyester configuration. It is ideally suited for rope eyes, handling protection and other exposed areas where robust abrasion resistance is required at a lower material cost.

Dyneema® · Polyester
